I really liked drawing this page. I was unsure if showing Lilith getting dressed was a good idea or not but in the end I thought it was a good idea and went with it.

The last panel was a challenge, having Lilith be outside the actual panel but still be surrounded by it. But I like having characters outside panels like that, I think it looks cool.

Also I like her outfit, though I'm afraid we won't see it much until chapter 2 because she'll be wearing her winter coat and a scarf because, like the old version, a majority of chapter 1 takes place outside.

I also really like the old, parchment-y narration bubbles. Those will be explained later in chapter 1. Possibly early in chapter 2, we'll see how things pan out once all the magic and fighting in chapter 1 starts. Although the fighting gets dragged into chapter 2 a bit but the last few pages of chapter 1 and the first few pages of chapter are more flexible than the rest of chapters 1 and 2 because of the way I wrote the fight. So there's some wiggle room to throw in a quick explanation or hint at what it's for. Chapter 3, as far as I've planned, is going to be more or less the same as the original version and that's where the explanation for the parchment narration boxes will show up.

My friends from high school came up (down, since they drove south?) this weekend to visit me so I didn't get a lot of work done on pages, but I've got to take a break now and then.

We went to Redondo Beach and the Santa Monica pier and held birds and went in the ocean and sat in the sun and I dug in the sand looking for cool shells and junk and we went to Hollywood and compared our hand and feet sizes to the prints in front of the Chinese Theater and got lost looking for a museum that apparently didn't exist and had ice cream and other fun things.

So I had a fun weekend. I hope you all had a good one too <3 See you next Monday!

Wow, I know I keep saying this but that looks amazing. Do you have some sort of hair coloring tutorial? :D

I second the motion for a tutorial. Really, her hair is AMAZING! (Of course, so is the rest of the comic!)

I don't have a tutorial but I could probably throw one together when I have the spare time.

Yeah the hair looks good. The dressing sequence was good too, it's harder than one would think to draw a natural-looking getting dressed -scene, but it turned out good here.

It was quite a struggle. I wasn't sure what to show and what to avoid and then drawing it all without having it look weirdly stiff was a challenge.

I'm glad you like it though, my hard work paid off :)

Trying to imagine how much time you must spend on hair alone gives me a headache. Hats off, man!

It's actually not all that much time. But then I've really streamlined my process for drawing hair so maybe it just doesn't feel like a lot of time to me. Also I enjoy drawing and coloring hair so I don't notice how long it takes :9

Indeed. Also her hair is longer than ever. I swear in each version of the comic it gets longer, I don't understand it.

The answer is simple, dear Wattson: as time passes on, her hair grows.

Can't believe it took this long for me to get caught up. Shame on me. It's a beautiful comic with impeccable craft, in line, color, layout, and text.

These hair must require A LOT of brushing. My hair isn't even mid-back long and I have to spend more time that I would like to on them.

Showing her get dressed helps show off those tattoos as well! Nicely rendered scene and I agree on not letting a panel keep a character contained!

Dressing scene are common in the web.
Ones without se*ual content -extremly rare.
And good ones? Now that something of legend.

Well, at least I have the 'no sexual content' going for me. :9 I don't think I've seen many dressing scenes in comics that aren't sexual. At least in webcomics.
